Dewey & LeBoeuf has a long-standing commitment to pro bono service. Our donation of thousands of hours of attorney expertise is rooted in our belief that we have a professional and moral obligation to serve those who cannot afford legal representation.

Building upon our established pro bono program, we seek to set the law firm standard in providing pro bono legal services. Recent initiatives have expanded attorney participation in these activities. For example, the firm imposes no limit upon the pro bono hours that our attorneys may contribute, and associates receive full billable credit for hours spent on pro bono matters.

Around the world, our lawyers are engaged in a wide variety of pro bono projects. We take on large-impact civil rights litigation to advocate for those who have been historically disadvantaged. We help victims of domestic violence re-establish their footing. Our lawyers prevent the eviction of low income tenants. Worthy not-for-profit organizations and microenterprises, both domestically and internationally, get the legal services they need from our firm to open and stay afloat. We represent indigent defendants in criminal cases at trial and on appeal. Our firm also helps prevent the deportation of asylum seekers who are facing persecution if they are forced to return to their native lands. And much more.
